Today the 7th graders watched the movie Pay it Forward. Many of you who were here last year at Veritas remember watching this movie at the end of your 7th grade year. It is a GREAT movie and many of you referred to it throughout this year in other stories we read. I was very impressed with your insights into this wonderful and story and the message of the entire movie.
Now some thoughts:
Why is the concept of “Paying it Forward” a test of humanity and honesty?
(Remember – if you do not know the word – look it up – just like in the movie.)
How could the concept of “Paying it Forward” make a difference?
Is “Paying it Forward” something that could really work? Explain.
This is a movie that I do NOT want you to take lightly. This is a movie that I want you to take seriously – its entire idea, its concept, and its message.
As Mr. Shen always said, “When in doubt . . . . THINK.”
That is what I want you to do with the message of this movie.
Think about how YOU can make a difference. Everybody, everyday, in some small way can make a difference. How can you make a difference for the better of this world?

i liked the movie mrs ryan…but the endng was very very sad…i didnt expect that trever would die!!! sooooo sad -.-
Patricia – that is what makes it a good movie. The ending is sad, but we all know that not everything in life can be happy, so we need to make a difference while we can. Make sense?

I remember the movie at the beginning of the year it was sad how the little boy died but it was a good move… well im gonna miss you mrs. it was very sad when the little boy died towards the ending of “pay it forward”..at the end of the movie when people were standing outside the little boy’s house it made me feel really sad because the little boy just wanted to change the world by telling people about “paying it forward”
i was surprised when trevor died i wasn’t expecting it at all but then again that’s what made the movie good too. “Pay it Forward” is a good movie ^_^
The ending of the movie was surprising when Trevor died, but that made it a good movie too. It’s too bad that the main character, the one that helped spread the whole ‘pay it forward’ thing had to die, but it was a good movie i liked it. ^-^
